The Company Everything except ordinary OTTO’S – just an ordinary department store chain? On the contrary. Since its creation in 1978, our company has grown into a real magnet for bargain-hunters. And yet, our family company, rich in tradition, has much more to offer than just bargain prices. O TTO’S stands out from the competition in so many ways. This is no accident: To keep well ahead in the fierce competition for customers, we strive to go our own way. The two crucial qualities of our business approach are unbeatable prices and an impressive product line. Over the years we’ve never stopped expanding our assortment. We surprised just about everyone, for instance, when we entered the automobile market. Our customers were also excited at the news that OTTO’S was going to start selling skis and mountain bikes. Bold decisions like these brought rewards: OTTO’S CARS and the OTTO’S Sport Outlets are successfully on the move just about everywhere today, as just two examples of why out company has been so successful for more than 40 years. What also sets OTTO’S apart is how close we are to customers. We know our customers – and we do whatever it takes to keep the shopping experience in our branch stores as pleasant as possible. We succeed by constantly adapting our assortment to current needs. In addition, we maintain close customer ties with special offers like our popular tent and platform sales drives. No question about it: OTTO’S success today stands on many pillars. None of this is going to change in the foreseeable future. At present, the family operation, now led by Mark and Rolf Ineichen in its second generation, employees about 2,500 people. From our home office in Sursee, we serve more than 100 branch stores in Germanspeaking Switzerland, in the French-speaking cantons and in Ticino, using our instantly recognizable red fleet of trucks.
